Resolution
January 19, 2012
I’m so excited about the Courageous Parenting Study. The purpose of this “class” is to inspire and challenge others to resolve to be the parents God created them to be by trusting God’s plan, learning to be content and faithfully walking in obedience to Him. It’s about deciding what "YOU" will do & who "YOU" will become from this day forward. We will not focus on the wrongs of others and how they may or may not have hurt us. My prayer is that life change takes place and we each learn to apply the truths and principles we learn by incorporating them into our daily lives as God reveals and prompts us to do so. We are here to hold each other accountable. As we do this, together we will start a revolution in our families, our circle of influence and ultimately our community!
Be the Best
January 9, 2012
What have you done today? What specific steps have you taken to ensure your success as a child of God and as a parent? Have you gone above and beyond? Have you done your very best? Could you honestly say? “There isn’t more thing I could have done today. I gave God my all. I dug into His word and refused to be satisfied until I heard a fresh word from my Savior and Redeemer. I loved well; I refused to compromise with my flesh; I made progress toward the goals I have set for my life. I’m on my way to living the abundant life and walking in freedom and total deliverance as I move towards my future in Christ.”
Go get what God has for you! Refuse to settle! Don’t stay stuck up under your circumstances when you have the power to rise above them! You have greatness in you! Start living it out today! Be the best you can be through Christ!
Stuck in a Pit?
January 6, 2012
Are you stuck in a pit that you can’t seem to get out of? Are you looking for a Deliverer? People can help us but they can’t heal us. They can lift us but they can’t carry us. They can pull us out of a pit but they can’t keep us out. Only Christ can set us free! When we look to a human deliverer instead of to God, we will at some point return to captivity. Look to Jesus for your happiness, wholeness, fulfillment, healing & future! People will disappoint us because they aren’t able to be God! Luke 6:39 “A blind man cannot guide a blind man, can he? Will they both not fall into a pit?” Isaiah 43:11 “I, even I, am the Lord, and there is no Savior besides me.” God is our only true source of protection and deliverance so turn to Him and trust Him today!

Testimony
October 6, 2011
The following testimony is from a 44 year old woman who lost her son to Foster Care 6 months ago. When the House of Israel got connected with her she was homeless, helpless & hopeless. She had a very weak support system, unemployed, depressed and fighting desperately to work a very difficult plan to be reunified with her 10 year old son. She was struggling to find peace and hope in the midst of her troubles. God used this ministry as a vessel for her to find just what she was looking for. This is what HOI is all about.
“The trip to see Joyce Meyers was a great experience for me. I stood up in a crowd of thousands of people for my salvation and afterward I felt uplifted, worry free and peace. A warm feeling came over me like the Holy Spirit came in and kicked the devil out of me. Now my heart aches no more and I now have positive thinking and a positive attitude that will equal a powerful life for me. I now feel comfort in my life knowing I have god and friends that share the learning experience of God with me.”
I can't wait to see what God does in, through and for this woman and her son! The investment we are making in their lives is worth it!!!!

Choices
September 28, 2011
The awesome thing about "Christianity" is that we are given the freedom & liberty to make our own decisions. God has given us each the option to choose life or death; prosperity or destruction. He doesn't force us to go one way or the other.
Take a moment to read Deuteronomy 30:11-20 (NLT)
11 “This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you to understand, and it is not beyond your reach. 12 It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ 13 It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ 14 No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it. 15 “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. 16 For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy. 17 “But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods, 18 then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy. 19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
Verse 20 shows us how to choose life:
20 You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Are you doing that today? Are you choosing life over death; blessings over curses? If not, what do you need to do differently? Always remember the 3 step process God has given us through this passage:
1. Love the Lord your God
2. Obey Him
3. Commit to Him
I challenge you to evaluate your heart & life today. Be honest with yourself. Are you truly loving God, obeying Him & committing your life to Him? If not, what are you waiting on? This is the key to your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Homeless, Helpless and Hopeless
August 12, 2011
I met a young mother at DSS who grew up in foster care, both parents are in prison, she already lost one of her kids 4 years ago & now has another one in the system. She is homeless & absolutely NO support system! I got to share the hope of Christ with her today. That's the most exciting part! However, it is very overwhelming to sit across from a crying young lady, desperate for help & ready to give up on life! I don't think I will ever get numb to that feeling of brokenness I get flooded with every time I meet someone like her. Reminds me of what the House of Israel is here for! Please help support this ministry as we take the hope of Christ to so many hopeless & hurting people.
Unanswered Prayers
May 17, 2011
Why aren’t our prayers being answered?
We tend to limit God by blocking our own blessings. Do you have the right attitude, mindset and thought pattern when you pray? Are you doubting God in the back of your mind? Do you really believe He can do all things and nothing is impossible for Him? Do you know and believe that He wants to and will do the impossible for you? Are you standing on his word and promises, refusing to waver in your faith? Are you persevering in the meantime when it appears God is not listening let alone caring about what you are going through? Have you gotten so discouraged that you have considered giving up or maybe have already thrown in the towel? Have your negative thoughts become such an overwhelming stronghold on your life?
Let me encourage you today. You can turn the outcome of your prayers around by renewing your mind and choosing to believe what God says in spite of your situation and circumstances.
Let me encourage you today. You can turn the outcome of your prayers around by renewing your mind and choosing to believe what God says in spite of your situation and circumstances.
The seeds we plant in our lives can be either negative or positive. Whichever we choose to sow, we will reap. If you want to be cursed, then continue thinking and dwelling on the negativity and lies of Satan. If you want to be blessed, then start or continue thinking and dwelling on the positive and standing on the promises of a faithful God. Instead of thinking “God will never hear my prayers; My need is too great; He doesn’t care about what I am going through; He’s too busy for me;” dwell on the Word of God, hide the truth in your heart and write the scriptures down so you can remember them and hold onto them in troubled times. If you do not know the word of God, you can not know the will of God for your life let alone your circumstances.
Train your mind to perceive what is possible even when things look impossible. There may be obstacles in the way trying to hinder or block your blessings; however, through perseverance and positive thinking you will ultimately be victorious. Be selective on what you think about and how you think today!
Here are 4 practical steps to having a more fruitful prayer life:
- Renew your mind- You can do this by casting out negative imaginations, thoughts, ideas, perceptions, concepts and replacing them with what God says.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
- Believe God
Psalm 37:4-6 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
John 14:13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 16:23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
- Stay in the Word
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
- Act on the Word- Do what it says; Apply it to your life
Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Liberation
May 12, 2011
HOI was started to be a vessel to help set people that are in bondage and captivity free and to go and make disciples. It is our desire to liberate the captives; to strengthen the weak, discouraged and hopeless; and to make disciples out of God’s children. Satan has done a great job at dividing families across the world and in our community. We believe at HOI that it is God’s design and plan for the family to function in unity; for families to be restored. We realize that it starts with individuals; more specifically with the parents living and walking in freedom and victory. We desire to see generational curses bound up and destroyed and cast back to the pit of hell. Our goal is to uproot the negative seeds that have been planted as we help establish new roots in hearts and lives one by one. If we can make a difference in one life; in one family, all the sacrifice will be worth it and to God be all the glory.
We often hear about the freedom we can have in Christ. We “know” it’s available but oftentimes we aren’t quite sure how to obtain it in our own lives. How do you walk in Freedom? How do you live a victorious live? I believe that John 8:31-32 sheds light into those questions. It says, “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”
Here are the basic steps that I get from these 2 verses:
First, we have to believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as our personal Savior. We have to come to a point in our lives where we acknowledge that we are sinners and believe that Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to God.
Read Romans 3:23-24; 6:23; John 3:16; John 14:6
If you haven’t ever made that step of faith, you can do that today, right now.
II Corinthians 6:2 says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
Don’t put it off any longer. A personal relationship with your Creator and Savior is the most essential step to your deliverance and freedom from bondage. With out this foundation, you cannot be free and/or victorious over any situation in your life. You have to build on a solid foundation. Jesus is the Rock and starting place. Come to Him today!
Second, we must hold onto God’s word. In order to walk in freedom, we must know what God says about our situations and circumstances. If we aren’t submerged into His word, we will not know the truth and therefore, cannot be free. God’s word equips and empowers us with peace, joy, hope, strength and ultimately victory.
Read Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3; Psalm 119:11; Deuteronomy 6:1-9
God tells us that when Jesus sets us free, then we are free INDEED! Anyone who has died to sin has been freed from sin! Romans 6:1-7 And for that we can say “Hallelujah” always!!!!!
Any time we find ourselves going around the same mountain; caught up in the same sin; discouraged about the same things, we can be sure that we put ourselves back in that bondage. We do that simply by our way of thinking. When we believe Satan’s lies over God’s truths, we foolishly place the shackles back around us. We imprison ourselves with our negative thought patterns and ignorance to God’s truth.
Are you holding onto Jesus’ teaching? Or are you instead choosing to be bound and entangled with the lies of the enemy? What can you do differently?
James 1:22-25 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.” ….. In other words, don’t just talk about it, be about it!!
It is one thing to listen to the word of God. It is another to actually apply it and do what it says to do. What benefit is it to simply know something if you never implement it in your life? What benefit is it to know how to drive a car but never get behind the wheel to go any where?
God’s word is alive! When you are weak, it can be your strength. It can turn any wrong around and make it work for your good and God’s glory. It can give you peace in troubled times; joy in the midst of sadness; hope when all is hopeless; abundance as opposed to mediocrity; and power to do great things. Nothing is impossible with God.
If you haven’t been doing what he says to do, don’t be discouraged! Start today! His mercy is new every morning. Lamentations 3:23-24
Zechariah 1:3-4 “Therefore tell the people: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty. Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the LORD.”
Be encouraged today knowing that the God of the universe loves you. He came not only to save you from death but to give you an abundant life. He desires to do greater things for you, in you and ultimately through you. Will you turn to Him and surrender today and allow Him to be in control of your life and set you free?
If you need further assistance on how to walk in this freedom, we are here to help! Stay blessed and free! Remember, when Jesus sets you free, you are free indeed!!
